Tabatha Coffey had plenty to say in bed with Joan Rivers! The Tabatha Takes Over star joined the comedy icon for her Internet chat show In Bed With Joan and dropped plenty of bombshells during their interview. The sassy hairdresser talked about the perks of fame and even revealed that when she was growing up in Australia, her mother was a strip club owner!

Coffey was quick to explain, however, that the strip club her mom owned was far from sleazy. “They weren’t pole clubs. They were fabulous … full-on burlesque,” Coffey said. “Most of the girls were actually transsexual and my mother paid for a lot of their sex changes. It was just feathers, and t*ts and a*s and eyelashes everywhere … but I didn’t tell anyone at school!”

Despite her mother’s vast exposure to gay life, she still wasn't immediately supportive of Coffey coming out. The Aussie revealed that her mother was not accepting at the beginning, which led to a long inner battle with her own sexuality.

It should have been a Chinese restaurant, because it would have been better,” Coffey joked. “I went to the fancy schmancy one and it didn’t work out so well.” Coffey later sued and won some monetary compensation, but admitted that it was more “about principle. I didn’t care about the money.”

Her refreshing and unfiltered honesty has been part of why Tabatha Takes Over has been such a success. The show wrapped up its fifth season last summer and all signs point toward a sixth season airing on Bravo in 2014.
