Tabatha’s Takeover: How She’d Change Naomi Watts’s Puffy-Sleeve Look

We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her stint on Shear Genius and her latest hit, Tabatha Takes Over. And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch once weekly to dish on some of the best — and worst — celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!

Today, she discusses Naomi Watts, who wore a puffy-sleeve dress to a premiere in Madrid last week:

Who in the world let Naomi leave the house looking this? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think she’s a complete and total train wreck, but there are a few things that are causing me to shake my head in disbelief.

Hoy en día, ella habla de Naomi Watts, que llevaba un vestido de manga hinchada a un estreno en Madrid la semana pasada:

For instance, Naomi’s hair is completely wrong. Her hair should be up and off her shoulders either in a simple chignon or a tight ponytail with a dramatic side part. Why? Because that dress has giant shoulders and puffy sleeves that make her look very top-heavy, which we all know she is not. By bringing the hair up, you immediately decrease the heaviness and “weight” of her overall look.

Por ejemplo, el pelo de Naomi es completamente erróneo. Su cabello debe estar en sus hombros, ya sea en un moño sencillo o una cola de caballo apretada con una parte lateral dramática. ¿Por qué? Debido a que el vestido tiene los hombros y las mangas hinchadas gigantes que la hacen lucir muy recargada, que todos sabemos que no lo es. And that dress … what was she thinking? It is far too matronly. Who knows, maybe Judi Dench lent it to her to be nice. I am just glad she brought a pop of color in with her lipstick, otherwise with her complexion, hair color and dress color it could have been a monochromatic washout.

Y ese vestido ... ¿qué estaba pensando? Es demasiado matrona. Quién sabe, tal vez Judi Dench se lo prestó a su ser amable. Estoy contento de que ella trajo un toque de color con el lápiz de labios, de lo contrario con el color de su tez cabello y color del vestido que podría haber sido un fracaso monocromática.

As far as the accessories go, I don’t mind them; I find the Louis Vuitton clutch to be a nice (and needed) contrast to the look. But here’s what I really can’t believe: those shoes. Was there nothing else to choose from? Those ankle straps break the line — and make the length of her legs look, well, not their best!

En cuanto a los accesorios ir, no te preocupes por ellos, creo que el embrague de Louis Vuitton para ser un buen (y necesario) a diferencia de la mirada.
