Tabatha’s Takeover: Kerry Washington Is an Easter Parade Gone Wrong

We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her stint on Shear Genius and her latest hit, Tabatha Takes Over. And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch once weekly to dish on some of the best – and worst – celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!

Today, she takes on Kerry Washington, who wore a pink-and-green Oscar de la Renta gown to the NAACP Image Awards in L.A. this week:

I’m probably going to get a lot of negative comments for this one, but I absolutely can’t stand this Easter egg hunt of a dress on the lovely Kerry Washington. And honestly, I’m quite shocked this dress was even an option. It does nothing for her figure and it makes her look like she is 10 years old waiting for her grandma to pick her up for Easter brunch. Before I go any further, I’m going to need someone to burn those shoes.

Probablemente voy a obtener una gran cantidad de comentarios negativos de este, pero absolutamente no puedo soportar esta huevos de Pascua de un vestido en la hermosa Kerry Washington. Y, honestamente, estoy bastante sorprendida este vestido no era ni siquiera una opción. No hace nada por su figura y hace lucir como ella tiene 10 años esperando a su abuela a recogerla para la Pascua brunch. Antes de seguir adelante, voy a necesitar a alguien para quemar esos zapatos.

If I had any say in the styling, I would put Kerry in something a bit more fitted and flattering. The color of the dress would hands-down be emerald green, not only because it is Pantone’s color of the year, but for the fact it would complement her complexion and hair color.

Si tuviera algo que decir en el estilo, lo haría por Kerry en algo un poco más ajustado y favorecedor. El color del vestido que, de lejos ser verde esmeralda, no sólo porque es el color de Pantone del año, pero por el hecho de que sería complementar su tez y color de pelo.

As far as hair and makeup go, I’m actually quite okay with what I’m seeing. A little lip color wouldn’t hurt, but I’m sure the makeup artist chose to stick with a nude palette to play it safe with this kind of dress.

En cuanto a peinado y maquillaje, estoy bastante de acuerdo con lo que estoy viendo. Un poco de color de labios no le haría daño, pero estoy seguro de que el artista del maquillaje optó por seguir con una paleta nude ir a lo seguro con este tipo de vestido.
