It was a long week for me at Salon Deco. Kim frustrated the hell out of me. I walked out and seriously didn't want to go back, but I had an issue -- I really liked the staff, and I also liked and felt for Kim's husband, Eric.
I found Kim's laid back attitude and excuses infuriating and frustrating in light of the fact that her business was falling apart, her house was in foreclosure, her husband was stressed to the max, and her staff felt abandoned. I truly did feel more invested in saving Kim's business than Kim herself.

What was clear is that she had a great team that wanted to support her, but they felt that Kim didn't care about the business. It was an every-man-for-themselves environment, and if the boss didn't care and couldn't be bothered to come to work or be part of the team, why should they all work so hard? Kim needed to show her staff she could be a leader, and she needed to see the future!
I needed help, since I felt like I wasn't getting through to Kim at all. That's when I decided it was time to talk to Kim's husband, Eric. The business was affecting the whole family, and I wanted his support to hold Kim accountable so she could see the seriousness of the situation. It was understandably very emotional for them to see their house with those signs up, but it finally helped Kim realize it was time to stop being so laid back.
Lo que estaba claro es que tenía un gran equipo que quería apoyar, pero sentía que Kim no se preocupan por el negocio. Next it was time for Kim to make a commitment to her business and her staff and show them that she could be a leader. It was hard for Kim, and she slipped back into making excuses, but in the end she really came through.
I really didn't think Kim would be able to keep up the changes, which is why I gave her the final recommendations I did. Honestly I was gobsmacked when I returned and she had followed through with them all. I am also happy to say that today she is still following through, leading her team, and Salon Deco is doing great.
Despues llegó el momento en el que Kim tenia que coger un compromisco con su negocio y con su personal, y demostrar que era capaz de ser la lider. Para Kim fue dificil y volvio a poner excusas pero al final ella cedio.
Yo realmente no creia que Kim sería capaz de continuar con los cambios, que le di en las recomendaciones finales. Honestamente me quede atonita cuando regrese y vi que Kim seguia todas mis recomendaciones. También estoy feliz de decir que hoy en día todavía está siguiendo a través, lo que lleva a su equipo, y el Salón Deco está haciendo muy bien.
Deco Salon owner Kim was a bit unnerving. She really couldn't deal with anything whatsoever. Her house was in foreclosure, she was never in her salon, her staff had completely given up, yet her response to everything was simply, "I know, I know." It sure didn't seem that way! Tabatha was in shock at Kim's complete lack of worry and inability to face her problems for the majority of the episode.
Really?! Moment No. 3 - Tabatha's Little Kangaroo
Kim's stylist Brook was a little...eccentric. Similar to Dina Manzo's relationship with Danielle Staub, we weren't sure if Brook wanted to be Tabatha, or skin her and wear her like last season's Versace. She wanted to ride in Tabatha's kangaroo pouch, which we're hoping just means she wanted to shadow her. Maybe? Who can say. But given that Tabatha didn't mysteriously go missing after the filming of this episode, we're guessing Brook just really, really admired her.

But she was hardly very convincing given she didn't want to budge on being in the salon more. At that point Tabatha gave it to her straight and just told her to sell the salon. There's nothing more vindicating than watching Tabatha put aside her clever quips and serve up some harsh truth to stubborn owners.

En ese momento Tabatha lo dio a su derecha y sólo le dijo que vendiera el salón. No hay nada más que ver la reivindicación de Tabatha dejar a un lado sus bromas ingeniosas y servir un poco de cruda realidad a los propietarios de rebeldes.

Perhaps one of the grossest things we've seen all season (so far) was Salon Deco's water cooler. What could be so gross about a water cooler you ask? The fact that there were roaches living in it. And that people were still drinking from it. Ewww! At that point I think your tap water is a far safer option. Even more disturbing -- how did the salon get so dirty that roaches decided to take up residency in the water cooler?

El hecho de que había cucarachas que viven en ella. Y que la gente se sigue bebiendo de ella. Ewww! En ese momento creo que el agua del grifo es una opción mucho más segura. Aún más preocupante - ¿cómo el salón de estar tan sucio que las cucarachas decidió fijar su residencia en el enfriador de agua?
